At The Bridal Salon, we believe that each of us can contribute to make a profound difference in our community. Tilly Vatcher, owner and operator of The Bridal Salon, has many years’ experience in the community as a leader, fundraiser and a volunteer.
“I believe it is important for each of us to give back to the communities where we live, work, and play. Growing up as a foster child I learned firsthand the impact community has on its families; I encourage you to lend a hand when possible to make your community a better place for all.”
The Bridal Salon slogan, “it’s about you and your style” is based on Tilly’s personal life experiences. Growing up in an enterprising foster home, she learned first-hand the meaning of mentorship. This idea carried into her business. Her daughter, Victoria, began her mentorship approach at age 15, while several other young ladies continue to be a part of this mentorship program.
Tilly feels it is very important to teach and mentor the youth of our communities. It is through our guidance that we help others build their confidence. Throughout the years, she has mentored many girls and she always keeps in touch with them after they leave. If interested in helping or being a part of Tilly’s mentorship program, please contact her directly.
My first introduction to what would be one of the greatest experiences and impacts of my life was in the winter of 2011. I was approached by an acquaintance to be a model in a wedding show for The Bridal Salon. Shortly after, I was approached by Tilly to be one of her staff at The Bridal Salon. Great I thought , some extra cash to help while I was in school. Little did I know that the opportunity presented to me at that time would shape me into the woman I am today. Tilly took me under her wing and soon enough I was family. Tilly has taught me more skills and lessons then I could have ever imagined. She's mentored me to embrace my individuality, radiate with confidence and treat others how you wish to be treated. Though I've since moved on with my career there's always a spot on The Bridal Salon roster for me and I wouldn't trade that for anything in the world.
Working at The Bridal Salon as a Junior Consultant was my first job, and it couldn't have been easier to learn with the compassionate and encouraging mentorship I received from Tilly and the rest of the consultants. I felt that as I learned I was met with patience and support, and I am grateful for all of the skills and experience I gained as a result.
Tilly is a fabulous mentor. She tailors her approach to each individual and makes everyone feel so appreciated. I am so grateful for all the wonderful opportunities she has provided and continues to provide me with.
Working with Tilly at the bridal salon has helped me break out of my shell and become more confident in who I am.
Tilly is the definition of a mentor, with her kind nature, and experience in business and in life. She is an excellent teacher, that has brought out the confidence in me that I needed and has had a hand I developing me into the professional I am now. I am forever grateful.
The mentorship program honestly changed my life. It made me into the person I am today. I will forever thank Tilly and her team for taking me under their wing and not only showing me the ropes of the salon but to life as well!
The training and mentorship that I received while working at The Bridal Salon greatly enhanced my ability to gain much needed self-confidence. It gave me the courage and skills to attend and successfully complete a post-secondary education. Tilly and her staff went above and beyond to help me seek my life's goals. I felt a part of not only their team, but their bridal family. I can't thank them enough.
The Bridal Salon has helped me gain perspective on working with others and how each personality can contribute to a much bigger picture. I have learned not only leadership but also that teamwork is essential to maintain a proper workflow. I have learned how to work with different types of personalities and how to coordinate with each client’s “vision”. I am very grateful for the opportunity to not only mentor others but continue to be mentored as well.

Working at the Bridal Salon was my first time working in retail, and I could not have been more fortunate to have Tilly as an employer and supervisor. The Bridal Salon was not only a fabulous place to work, but we were also a family who supported and encouraged one another in all our endeavors - whether it was related to the business or another area of our lives. I wouldn't be who or where I am now without that support and love.
