At The Bridal Salon we believe that building a great community starts with caring and supporting local programs and organizations that make a profound difference in everyday lives. Choosing one’s charity of choice will assist in enriching people’s lives and support to the future well-being of our community.
Tilly Vatcher, owner/operator of The Bridal Salon, has been actively involved in the not-for-profit sector for over 14 years, both as a community leader, fundraiser and a volunteer.
“While I am no longer employed in the not-for-profit sector, I have remained actively involved as a volunteer with various charitable organizations. Whether we devote time or dollars to a charity or a local cause, I believe it is important for each of us to give back to the communities where we live, work, and play. Growing up as a foster child I learned firsthand the impact community has on its families; I encourage you to lend a hand when possible to make your community a better place for all.”

Leave a Legacy™ - (www.leavealegacy.ca) is a program of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP). Its goal is to raise awareness of the importance of thoughtful, well-planned, tax-preferred gifts and their impact on the quality of life for everyone in our communities.
Tilly Vatcher began as a volunteer with the CAGP St. John’s Roundtable and the Leave a Legacy Program in 1997. She continues to be involved in this aspect of volunteerism as she believes it plays an important role in building our community by bringing together donors, charities, professional advisors, etc. Tilly encourages members of the community to engage in charitable giving and to make gift planning a part of one’s financial and estate planning.
Vibrant Communities - “Dancing with the Priests” Fundraiser. Vibrant Communities is a network of organizations and individuals who believe we can have positive impact when we work collaboratively! Their goal is to ensure individuals and families have adequate resources to maintain a decent standard of living and to participate fully in the life of our community. The overall all goal of Vibrant Communities St. John’s is to assist 1500 households in the journey out of poverty by 2012!
On Friday, May 8, 2009, a unique fundraiser will be held in support of Vibrant Communities. Priests from local anglican churches along with dancers from Dance Schools in the St. John’s area take to the floor in a unique twist on Dancing with the Stars. Our dancing priests promise to master the steps and wow their audiences, all in the name of raising funds for Vibrant Communities.
Guests are sure to be delighted with the dance performances, judging panel, live entertainment and appetizing menu. Dance pairs will perform before a panel of judges whose results will determine our winner. After the competition, the audience will put on their own dance shoes and dance to the music of the Dancing with the Priests band.
